5 level office building of 1,733 square metres. New home of Bunnik Tours.
City of Adelaide, South Australia.
- Soul-destroying interior scheme
- Most interior surfaces were painted Peach
- Brown partition walls everywhere
- Blue vertical drapes
- Grey carpet.
- To create a fun interior space
- Reflect the nature of Bunnik Tours
- Staff should enjoy being in the space and be proud of it.
Remove all signs of Public Servant inhabitants, and associated depressing colour scheme, throughout the building.
Provide dramatic, unexpected, and fun interiors while maximising comfort and ensuring all areas have access to natural light and views. I used a bold patterned and coloured carpet throughout the main office floor. This was combined with occasional brightly coloured walls and bulkheads and wallpapers.
Remove ceilings to create extra height, open up windows to outside and install glazing to adjacent Theatre, paint everything white to increase light and openness, install red Marmoleum flooring that links to corporate image.
Transform from unloved to a lush function room: Replace all lighting to highlight original decorative features of the space; Paint columns ‘marble’ to add a sense of grandeur; Source eclectic furnishings; Install rich Brintons carpeting; Open space to ground floor retail.
