At work or home, your office should never be boring.
Multi purpose space
This small office space was painted grey with one charcoal ‘feature’ wall, black venetian blinds and charcoal carpet. A low mezzanine floor topped-off the oppressive, light and life sapping feel of the space. The mezzanine and all existing fittings and finishes were removed. New plaid carpet was installed; all walls painted white; the slim original metal window frames were painted black; and elegant and classic furniture was selected. The result is an office that is a pleasure be in.
Appreciating the heritage
This study is located on a mezzanine level of a 150-year-old church. Once the previous owner's pastel green curtains, white melamine wardrobe, and stained carpets were removed the space was transformed into a dramatic work environment.
Energising and creative space
This space had been occupied by public servants for decades. As a result it was without style. Peach, blue, brown and beige were all mixed up together with heavy blinds and high partitions blocking all natural light and outlook. Bunnik Tours required a very different office environment to work in. The blinds and partitions were removed, the walls mostly painted white with occasional bold highlights and the depressing grey carpet was replaced with patterned carpet of massive flower design. This office is one where your spirits are lifted the moment you enter.
Home office & guest room
This room was clearly visible from the entry hall of my client's apartment. As such it needed to look good but it also needed to house the requirements of their business and occasional guests. New, multi-functional furniture was chosen and custom-made orange linen curtain were installed to add colour and texture. Art was from the clients existing collection and cushions were purchased to add visual impact.
Home office using custom joinery
Custom made joinery provided a place for everything in this combined guest room and study. The desk and shelves consume less floor space than the previous loose furniture did yet they provide vastly improved storage and functionality.
This was my own previous studio space. It was filled with things that were required for work but also many quirky objects and furnishings that I love. It was a space that I, and my cat, felt very comfortable in. The stand-up computer desk was constructed using Ikea kitchen units and worked a treat for housing required electrical stuff.
Flexible, professional rooms
Ecological Associates Pty Ltd required an entire fit-out to a bare shell-only tenancy in a new building that had yet to be completed within a short time-frame and at minimal cost. They required a relaxed work environment with a flexible layout to allow for future increases in employee numbers. The design allows for literally everything to be easily moved, including the Molo Soft Walls! Existing furniture was used where possible and inexpensive additional furnishings and fittings were added. The client is delighted with their new accommodation.
This loft studio space in used as a home office and also accommodates regular visits from the client’s children. Fortunately the space is well designed and extremely interesting. The addition of a range of inexpensive, but cheerful and practical furniture and furnishings (care of Ikea), including lounge chairs that convert to single beds, transformed this space. It is now a stylish work place during the week and a much loved children’s holiday retreat on weekends.
