I used Stewart as an architect. He produced an excellent design taking into account a range of conflicting needs and providing economical solutions. This includes taking our tricky social needs into account and coming up with unique solutions. I recommend Stewart if you know there is a solution outside the box but can’t quite think of it yourself.
We moved from a 1920s Californian bungalow to a new apartment that was a blank canvas where everything was off-white. I wanted to have colour but was so confused and scared as to where to start. Stewart helped me with the colour and furnishings and was keen for us to buy interesting furniture rather than something new found in the furniture stores. I now have a very fun house full of colour and interesting pieces. I like to think of some of my furniture as works of art. Stewart encouraged us to take time looking. I would never have been brave enough to buy Japanese antiques (which worked out at the same price as some of the leading furniture stores) and put them into a modern building. He was always happy for me to send him a photo to be passed by his keen eye. My artwork is all by original artists, which I absolutely love, because they create so much interest and conversation. They were not overly expensive pieces, all by local artists and one is even from a second hand store!Stewart’s imagination and creativity gave me the confidence to make choices. Nothing was ever too hard and he was always a phone call away. Thanks, Stewart!
We engaged Stewart to re-design the kitchen, dining room and bathroom of our 1920s bungalow. He was easy to work with, listened to what we wanted and was able to come up with a design that not only looked good, but was practical. The end result was better than we had hoped for. We would recommend Stewart to anyone that is looking to renovate or redecorate their home.
Stewart’s architectural and design experience, and understanding of my personal values, added value to the difficult process of selecting and establishing a new house in a new city. I trust him implicitly and recommend his skills to others seeking to make the right financial and personal choices about their new home.
I had no idea how easy it would be to work with an interior designer. My home has been transformed and it didn’t cost a fortune.
We can personally attest to Stewart’s work & not only his incredible talent to create the perfect space/design but also his genuine desire to give his clients the best they could possibly wish for.
I don’t think a single visitor has come to the office without commenting how nice it is.
Stewart has an open way of working with you that allows for all the ideas to be discussed but also to challenge the creative boundaries. The end result for me was a colour scheme that has plenty of “wow factor” that I would have never done alone. His ideas around window dressings, light fittings and much more help to make a “creative space” that you just want to relax and “be in”.
I have always loved colour but Stewart helped me be bold with the choices and it’s great. My advice is, don’t be frightened of colour and call Stewart for a fantastic outcome that reflects you and your style.
Stewart did a fantasic re-design of our property in Crafers. We had many ideas for what we wanted to do but with his eye for detail, he proposed a design that was beyond what we had envisioned and it came up trumps. I would highly recommend Stewart’s services to anyone.
I found selecting a colour scheme for my inner city terrace both difficult and stressful, sometimes with unsatisfactory results. Stewart brought a new approach to selection and coordination of colours that brought out the best features of my house and existing furnishings.
Working with Stewart to refurbish my twenty year old home enabled me to achieve so much more than I could ever hope to on my own. His vision, creativity, research and contacts all combined to create a beautiful and functional living space. Stewart’s communication skills and attention to detail are great strengths, which made working with him a pleasure.
When Stewart Kirby was recommended to me by a friend, I was hoping that he could help transform my place from dowdy to desirable! Not only did he do so, but he incorporated the (few) ideas I had perfectly, combined old and new furnishings in stylish ways and created a space that made the most of the building’s features and which I’m truly proud of. All who visit are impressed, and can’t believe what was achieved with the small budget I had. I could have spent three times as much on my own and never achieved such a great result. Thanks Stewart!
I had some ideas of what I wanted, but I was having trouble envisioning the final result and how the colour design would link my open-planned living space. Stewart helped me to arrive at a solution that separates the functional spaces whilst maintaining a sense of continuity. The overall result is exactly what I was looking for.
